As part of our commitment to environmental practices, Hotel Flora is proud to be part of the Venice Plastic Free initiative, a project launched by the Romanelli family to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable tourism. Guests are encouraged to minimize their environmental impact by using refillable water bottles instead of disposable plastic ones.
- Guests can purchase a reusable water canteen at reception, eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles.
- A map of Venice’s historic public fountains is provided, highlighting convenient refill locations. Venice’s tap water is fresh, high-quality, and among the best in Italy.
- A fountain is available in the hotel’s courtyard for easy refills.
- Single-use bath amenities have been replaced with sustainable alternatives in partnership with Ortigia Sicilia.
- Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with filtered tap water in their rooms, along with an informational message about the Venice Plastic Free initiative.
Through these small but impactful changes, Hotel Flora, Novecento, and Casa Flora collectively save nearly 36,000 plastic containers per year, making a meaningful contribution to the city’s sustainable future.
